Katsina Board Boss Disburses N18m To 727 Beneficiaries In Kaita
The executive chairman of the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Kabir Gafia, has disbursed N18 million to 727 beneficiaries in Kaita local government area.
The event, sponsored by the Kabir Gafia Foundation, was held at the Kaita Local Government Secretariat and drew community leaders, party stakeholders, women and youth groups and beneficiaries from in the LGA.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Gafia expressed appreciation to Dikko Umaru Radda for what he described as an opportunity given to the people of Kaita through people-focused policies.
He praised the governor’s leadership, describing him as “a people’s governor committed to supporting citizens and improving social welfare.”
Dr. Gafia outlined the structure of the disbursement, stating that ₦30,000 would be given to 46 members from Gwagware, while party executives at the ward level would receive ₦20,000 each.
He added that persons with special needs would also receive ₦20,000 each, noting that women and youth were captured as key components of the scheme.
According to him, 212 individuals are benefiting directly, while 130 persons and groups, including members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), are also part of the intervention.
He explained that the initiative was designed to provide financial relief, particularly as residents prepare for the Ramadan period.
“This support is meant to ease economic pressures and help families meet essential needs during Ramadan so that they can benefit from its blessings,” he said.
Dr. Gafia further urged beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds and called on residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
He cited the governor’s achievements in education, including the construction of schools and the employment of teachers and other workers, as reasons for sustained political support.
“The governor has invested significantly in education and human capital development. These efforts require continuity and collective backing,” he stated.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely support amid prevailing economic challenges.
Flagging off the disbursement on behalf of the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Bar. Abdullahi Garba Faskari, thanked the SUBEB boss for the initiative, describing the gesture to be in line with the commitment of the government.
