FG exempts education, agriculture non-engineering applicants from UTME

The Federal Government has exempted candidates seeking admission into education programmes and agriculture non-engineering courses from writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The development was disclosed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.

  • “Candidates seeking admission into education programmes and agriculture non-engineering courses are now exempted from UTME.”

The reform is set to alter admission requirements for the affected courses, with the implementation framework still being finalised by authorities.
