Over 10,942 civil servants get consumer credit loans in five days

Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation gave over 10,942 civil servants loans in five days, according to a publication of the corporation posted online.
The loans are to help citizens manage impact of rising prices of goods and services.
It said beneficiaries included 4,786 education workers and teachers, 1,307 doctors and healthcare professionals, 753 specialised workers, 1,264 police and paramilitary officers, and 2,831 administrators.The loans, it noted, will provide accessible and affordable credit to enable citizens meet household needs.A beneficiary, Mrs. Hauwa Bawa, of Ministry of Labour and Productivity, received her loan through her bank (one of CREDICORP’s participating financial institutions).“I got my loan without knowing anyone. I just applied online with my details, the funds were disbursed. I took care of my farm and addressed some needs. I can’t thank CREDICORP and President Bola Tinubu enough.”CREDICORP, a Federal Government Development Finance Institution (DFI), has partnered financial institutions to offer these loans. This programme serves as a lifeline for Nigerians grappling with rising costs, demonstrating Tinubu’s dedication to providing timely relief.
