CHAN 2024: Super Eagles To Battle For Pride Against Congo

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has emphasised that his team will be playing for pride in their final group match against Congo in the ong
Chelle’s side has been eliminated from contention after suffering defeats in their first two group matches, losing narrowly 1-0 to Senegal and then experiencing a heavy setback with a 4-0 thrashing from Sudan.
Ahead of today’s critical encounter, Chelle acknowledged the multitude of mistakes made in the previous matches but stressed the importance of concluding the tournament with a positive performance. “We have made several mistakes in our previous games, and while the tournament for us is effectively over, it is crucial that we leave with something to show for our efforts,” he commented during a press conference.
Today’s match is set to take place at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam and is scheduled to kick off at 6 PM Nigerian time. The Super Eagles will be looking to reclaim some dignity on the pitch as they face off against a motivated Congolese side.
Chelle’s sentiments reflect the dedication and spirit of the team as they aim to restore pride in what has been a challenging tournament thus far. Fans will be hoping for a spirited performance as the Super Eagles play their final match in this year’s competition.
