Action Peoples Party Will Provide People-driven Leadership In Imo –Amadi

Founder of The Mazi Organisation (TMO), Dr. Chima Amadi, said his party, Action Peoples Party (APP), would herald a people-driven leadership in Imo State.
He stated this while unveiling the Action Peoples Party (APP) as his platform to contest the 2027 governorship election in Imo.
Speaking at the unveiling in Owerri, Dr. Amadi said the Action Peoples Party represented “a new social contract” between leadership and the governed, declaring that “the time for people-driven leadership in Imo has come.”
He described the APP as the political expression of a movement already rooted in the grassroots through TMO, which has, over the past three years, implemented community development initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, and policy dialogues across the 27 local government areas of the state.
“What we are building is not another political structure for election season,” Amadi said.
“It is a long-term movement born out of people’s frustration with elite politics and the desire for accountable governance.”
The unveiling has triggered what insiders describe as anxiety and quiet panic within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC), amid reports of secret meetings and looming defections.
Political observers believe the launch of APP under Amadi’s leadership marks one of the most significant realignments ahead of the 2027 polls, arguing that the party could become a rallying point for disenchanted voters seeking credible alternatives.
“APP is not just another party; it’s the formalization of a movement that already exists,” said political analyst Nze Joe Ogbe. “That’s why the old order is nervous — they’re not dealing with a typical aspirant, but with an organized civic network that has evolved into a political structure.”
Through The Mazi Organization, Amadi has conducted extensive town hall meetings, skills training for young people, and community outreach projects that analysts say have cemented his grassroots credibility long before his political declaration.
That credibility, observers say, explains the groundswell of enthusiasm that greeted the unveiling of the Action Peoples Party.
As campaigns begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 governorship race, Amadi’s entry has already reshaped the political terrain in Imo, challenging long-held assumptions about voter behaviour and party dominance.
“The emergence of Amadi and APP signals a generational shift,” Ogbe added. “It is proof that politics in Imo is moving from personality to purpose.”
With the APP now officially on the field, the 2027 contest in Imo State appears set for a historic battle between entrenched power and a new grassroots-driven movement.
