The National Talent Export Program (NATEP) is partnering stakeholders to promote the culture of peace and foster youth engagement in new digital initiatives to also amplify the participation of young men and women in decision making processes for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

The National Coordinator, NATEP, Femi Adeniyi said the organization with the support of the government is doing all it can to ensure youths are put in their proper place in the employment industry, adding that presently, Nigeria is grappling with diverse challenges, including unemployment, illiteracy, climate change, insecurity, marginalization and digital space abuse.

Adeniyi disclosed this at the National Conference on Peace building, conflict management in Abuja, stating that NATEP is to accelerate job opportunities through outsourcing, saying one can be resident in Nigeria and work for foreign countries. This is among the reasons NATEP is partnering with different organizations to achieve this feat.

“We are partnering with some European countries for Nigerians to have jobs over there; we are also partnering with Poland and Denmark governments for youth employment too, no like they will all move over to these countries, they will work with these organizations from Nigeria and be well paid. These employment opportunities are extended to the youths who are qualified at the grass root level,” he said.

Also speaking, the Director-General, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, IPCR, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu lamented that the inappropriate use of digital space by youth has been the source of heightened tension and enmity, political mistrust, polarisation among Nigerians.  Thousands of youths have been influenced to misuse the digital space by conflict entrepreneurs and politicians resulting from their vulnerability and impoverishment.Ochogwu noted that the institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution has continued to deploy non-kinetic measures to ensure the participation of youths in conflict management and peace building in the country. This he said led to the design of a national action plan on youth, peace and security.
